New York City-based Israeli singer/ songwriter, Noy Markel, is slowly building a reputation for her emotive and soulful style. Armed with a euphoric and floaty sound coupled with her commanding sultry vocals and love for infectious soundscapes underpinned by genre-bending textures. Her debut album Running From the Shadows helped solidify her as an artist to watch and now she returns with her new single "Sometimes" which comes with an engaging visual.
The record is a summer-tinged and groovy tune that was inspired by a conversation about perspective and how we all could get lost in our own thoughts and create our reality out of pure imagination. The track also explores the uncertainty of life and implores listeners to go with the flow and lean into the unknown, for that might be where one's destiny lies.
The visuals are quite stylistic and make use of several performance shots and off-beat cut scenes that capture Noy in different settings. It's all threaded by a psychedelic aesthetic that alludes to her imagination and how she created her own safe space free from the pressures of the outside world.
