Rising Nigerian artist Qing Madi has unveiled the official music video for her latest single, "Why," a powerful song showcasing her unique Afro-R&B sound and commitment to spreading hope and empowerment. The 16-year-old Columbia recording artist, whose name translates to "heaven," has already made waves with her previous single, "See Finish," which has accumulated over 8.2 million streams.

Drawing on her upbringing with hip hop and R&B influences, Qing Madi's music is a breath of fresh air in the Afrobeat scene. Her songs blend infectious melodies, irresistible rhythms, and inspiring lyrics that aim to uplift, empower, and celebrate with "Why," Qing Madi tackles essential issues such as bullying, friendship, and the pursuit of dreams, drawing on her experiences with classmates who sought her attention as she chased her ambitions.

The official music video for "Why" was shot in Lagos, Nigeria, and displays Qing Madi's impressive dancing skills, reminiscent of the late Aaliyah. The classically trained ballerina also flexes her vocal range, giving fans a taste of what to expect from her upcoming EP.

Qing Madi's talent has been noticed, as she recently signed a deal with Jton Music and Columbia Records/Bu Vision. Bu Thiam, CEO of Bu Vision and EVP at Columbia Records, is a notable executive with a resume working with renowned artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West, Akon, and Lady Gaga. Thiam made two trips to Nigeria in one week to sign the young singer-songwriter.

Despite her rising fame, Qing Madi remains grounded and relatable, prioritizing her community over commercial interests. Her music tells an incredible story, connecting with audiences across the globe who seek fun, uplifting, and empowering music.
