Rose Rose's latest single "Sky Queen" is a funky and upbeat track that takes listeners on a disco-infused journey through the groovy sound of the 70s. The Paris-London based duo, Samuel and Pierre, have created a nostalgic yet organic sound that is sure to get listeners moving. The track features dreamy keys, cheerful chords, and an overall joyous atmosphere that is perfect for any dance floor.
The duo's unique musical style draws inspiration from a love of disco, house, and pop, with the French electronic scene of the early 2000s being a significant influence. Following the success of their earlier releases "Sugar Hill" and "Pressure," "Sky Queen" is a fitting addition to their growing discography.
Rose Rose's passion for music is evident in every aspect of the track, from the funky bassline to the soaring vocals. The song's meaning is also significant, as it aims to change an outdated narrative and highlight the duo's admiration for a world with angels. Speaking on their inspirations and meaning behind the new single “Sky Queen” Rose Rose wrote, “Sky Queen is a song about the angels depicted in old master paintings. These angels are usually painted as males, a representation we do not agree with, hence a title and lyrics that attempt to change an outdated narrative and highlight our admiration for a world with female angels. It’s a spiritual song in which we tried to combine the idea of light and dark, hope and sadness, an ambiguity we’ve always tried to suggest in our music.”
