Maggie Miles, the Nashville-based, alternative pop powerhouse has released yet another daring single.
Pondering but explosive at the same time, "Momentum" traverses with a sense of newfound confidence. At times, the track drones on in a maze-like soundscape, as Miles' mesmerizing and anthemic vocal navigates through the anti and electro-pop production. There's something elegantly cunning about her delivery that personifies and visualizes the emotional turmoil, as well as the tug-of-war an artist often experiences between taking a leap of fate or waiting for the next momentous moment.
With the release of "Momentum," Miles unveils the next chapter of her discography by confirming the May 17th arrival of a sophomore album, The Lack Thereof. While her songwriting strength has always been rooted in introspection and a kind of fearless vulnerability, with "Momentum" setting a precedent alongside the equally remarkable "Indecent" and "Asthma," this next era will undeniably launch Miles to an unforeseeable new height.
"'Momentum' is exactly how it sounds," regarding the song, Miles explains, "It’s my attempt at an anthem that provokes a step toward all that we want to be. It’s the personification of bravery and the frustration that comes with it. The lyrics paint a canvas that displays our fears holding us back, claiming 'I know it sounds easy, but I’m the only one that’s in the way.'
"'Momentum' is a song that attempts to engage the listener to jump," she determines.
