Continuing a strong release of 4 EP releases in the last two years, 1st Base Runner is back at it in 2023 with his 5th EP Night Stalker. Right from the beginning the release proves to be his darkest and most cinematic work to date.
On the release there is an array of sounds that carves their place on the EP. From ambient to experimental, the result is a collection of songs that will send chills down your spine. Strong synth sounds dance around, with a dark cast overhead. Night Stalker is a concept EP, which is evident in the first listen as he pushes the boundaries of modern music. Taking the best parts of groups such as M83 and Godspeed You Black Emperor, the release showcases the strength of 1st Base Runner.
Based in Austin, Texas, 1st Base Runner is the brainchild of musician Tim Husmann. Alongside new editions to the outfit, drummer Adam Byram and bassist Kevin Rowe, the group now completes Husmann’s vision for 1st Base Runner, which is also backed by Dilly Gent of Son & Heir productions as the group's permanent project Creative Director.
With more releases slated for 2023, it's certain to say that 1st Base Runner will break new barriers in a genre that has seen it all; until now.
