Samil and Grand Rapids, Michigan-based LoudChief's (aka A1) latest effort "Franchise Player (Jayson Tatum)" is the final single from their forthcoming EP 5 Piece & A Biscuit: Everything On Everything. As the title suggests, it pays homage to the Celtics player of the same name and the winning attitude of true achievers. Over Samil's haunting soundscape made u of dark chords, eerie textures and menacing drums, LoudChief set the tone with his precise flow and authoritative lyrics. He runs through the opposition like an unstoppable power forward and reminds them that he is a "Franchise Player like Jayson Tatum, back against my opponent, too bad you couldn't fade him, I'm playing chess not checkers." Fellow Grand Rapids lyricist Willie The Kid close the track with an equally dominating verse and calm flow that floats on the soundscape like algae over water. Lines like "My chick wild like Grace Jones, my mask off/ like Casey Jones, I walk it off Kevin Spacey, Kaizer Soze as of lately, you niggaz late" will surely trigger images in minds of listeners as Willie ties up a handful of pop culture references in a single breath.
