The Curse of K.K. Hammond is a slide guitarist and singer-songwriter, mixing Blues with the dark, gritty energy of the swamp and early Appalachia. Drawing inspiration from modern artists and 1930s artists alike, her biggest influences are Tom Waits, Skip James, Charlie Patton, and Leadbelly. K.K. developed a passion for the guitar at a young age, diving into Americana and the Blues. She also spent some time exploring USA backcountry, and is a self-described recluse who currently lives in a remote area of the woods.
K.K. recently announced her debut album, set to release March 31, 2023, under the title "Death Roll Blues". Prior to the album, K.K. released the album's title track – which quickly picked up traction. The song is a unique take on Blues, with dark, somewhat haunting elements to build to K.K's style. The track is sung with a story-telling narrative, painting a picture for the listener that goes along with the murder ballad itself.
