Conch Town Records newest signing AstroYeti have returned with their new single "Box Wine", the third release to be taken from their upcoming debut album Gnarly Gumlie’s Voodoo Van (out January 13th). AstroYeti’s unique and infectious sound has been warmly received, and comes as a melting pot of funk, ska, and psychedelic-rock.
Their latest single “Box Wine (One and 1)” showcases this signature sound. Thrashing drums and grooving bass create a formidable rhythmic partnership. Whilst on top, divine organ lines and bright guitar lines ebb and flow between each other creating the perfect canvas for Mark King’s vocals. These vocal lines shine through and come wrapped up in irresistible, alt-rock sensibilities. Speaking about the track, Mark shares: “Box wine is a song about chasing your dreams no matter how hard the path might seem and feeling the weight and power of responsibility to actualize those dreams."
Describing themselves as “a secret society of Space-Caper solving time crime fighters", AstroYeti's ability to take familiar rhythms and progressions and turn them on their head with futuristic sensibilities and catchy pop vocal lines makes them stand out from the crowd. Guitar lines that dabble in wobbly delays paints a trippy, and undeniably funky, picture.
Having already established themselves with radio play across the UK and US, "Box Wine" teases tastes of the upcoming debut album.
