Vector share visuals for "Clowns" (featuring Ladipoe)" [Video]

After releasing his new LP TESLIM: The Energy Still Lives In Me, Nigerian rapper Vector returns with the visuals for the song "Clowns" which sees him teaming up with fellow Nigerian emcee Ladipoe. The record itself is a bouncy and playful tune that sees both emcees flexing their lyrical chops with jabs and insight. Vector sets the tone with his laidback unassuming cadence underpinned by his unpredictable wordplay and humour.

Lines like "Fear as a concept is the funniest one but here's a clue Ellen was the generous one" will leave a smirk on listeners' faces and then some. Vector sure knows how to poke the bear and the way he straddles between being serious and playful is seamless. Ladipoe enters the fray with his choppy but fiery flow but he raises the stakes with some deep thoughts. He sure plays with the same theme but adds a thought-provoking line as follows "The most dangerous man alive is a married man with kids, desperation in his eyes/The things he's willing to do in the name of God will provide."

The visual directed by Nosachii is simple and focuses on their performance shots with a simple motif to follow. Shot in black and white with both emcees dressed in black attire draped by a white background actually accentuates their performances.

"Clowns" is taken from the album TESLIM which is also an acronym for ‘The Energy Still Lives In Me, named after his late father as a dedication to his teachings and philosophy on life. Largely produced by Grammy Award-nominated producer and Burna Boy collaborator Mr. Kleb, with additional production from the likes of Grammy winner Kel-P (Wizkid, Future, Adekunle Gold), Cracker Mello (Fireboy DML, Amaarae, D’Banj), and Major Bangz (Phyno, Olamide, M.I Abaga), with guest appearances with some of Africa’s finest artists including Wande Coal, Nasty C, Seun Kuti, Ladipoe, and GoodGirl LA, Vector’s TESLIM album is the culmination of a journey of rediscovery and realignment that has been five years in the making, sparked by the death of his father in 2017.
