As veteran UK rapper Fliptrix prepares for his ninth solo LP, he drops his last single for the year titled "Future Ain't Promised" which is a follow-up to his previous single and video "Primordial Soup", featuring long-time collaborator King Kashmere. This time Fliptrix goes solo on the microphone and teams up with his longtime collaborator producer Illinformed, who laces him with a reflective boom-bap soundscape that harks back to the golden age of hip-hop. As the title suggests, the track dwells on self-growth, discovery and the power of living in the present instead of brooding on elements we can't control. It's far from presenting idealistic notions but rather being realistic with whatever card life has dealt you and making the best out of it because, well, the future is not promised. In his own words, he adds If you find yourself in a deep hole, have faith that things can (and will) get better.”
The visual is simple and makes use of performance shots and quick cut scenes that captures Fliptrix in is element doing what he loves and also gives viewers the beautiful scenery surrounding him.
"Future Ain't Promised" is taken from Fliptrix's forthcoming LP titled Mantra No. 9.
