Poland born DJ Planet Zuzy delivers groovy and euphoric take on One Republic’s “Counting Stars,” encapsulating a rich and expansive sound with a 2010s touch that she’s been honing for a while.
Managing to strike a balance between preserving the beauty of the original while still infusing her own unique sonic style into her productions, Zuzy’s remixes blend freshness with familiarity.The grand number that’s laden with nostalgia, came to life quite spontaneously which the DJ describes as a “beautiful coincidence.”
She recalls, “I was sitting on the instrumental demo for a while, debating what vocals would fit, when out of nowhere I found myself singing “Latch” by Disclosure and Sam Smith. I was so excited I filmed my initial reaction once I layered the vocals and shared it to Tik Tok. Then I watched the video back…and something didn’t click. I quickly googled songs in C#minor, desperate to find something that worked better because I saw people were excited about a remix of “Latch” regardless of what I thought. And what do you know, the first song that popped up was “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic.”
