Jackson, Mississippi's LOS, aka Los Kemet, has shared a fresh new visual for his single "Shake Junt", which foreshadows the release of his upcoming project Got Drunk For The Most High. While his well-received previous album My Love Is Crack leaned towards a more laid-back, organic sound, "Shake Junt" demonstrates his versatility with a powerful Memphis rap-influenced beat and sharp, poised flows that captivate the listener's attention. "Shake Junt" is also accompanied by a focued new video that reflects the song's dark yet warm sonics, directed by LOS himself and Thomas G.
"Shake Junt"'s instrumentation, produced by gutty, crybby, B* ALI, and DAKOTA, draws influence from classic Southern hip-hop, with tinges of Memphis rap, while keeping its sound refreshing. Slow burning, imposing horns are stretched atop a canvas of heavy, raw drums and booming 808s, creating a strong foundation for LOS' commanding flows. Vocally, he is compelling as he twists together dynamic rhyme patterns with ease, making for a gripping listen in the process. The accompanying music video utilizes subdued hues and focused, minimalistic shots to add to the song's ominous feel, and contains a compelling performance from LOS, as well as a cameo from Texas rapper Fatboyshaun.
The latest from Missisippi artist LOS, "Shake Junt" will appear on his upcoming project Got Drunk For The Most High, due soon.
