DUB ZOO form an enhancing musical collective formed and performed by a group of exceptional multidisciplinary musicians. With a passion for improvisation and limitless creativity, their new album Strange Times offers an encapsulation of their pure energy.
Based on the sunshine coast of Australia, they unite the warmth of their melodies with progressive dub and deep psychedelic sonic elements, to create a genre-bending ten-track album inspired by the pandemic. They explain, “As far as what we were watching, it kinda felt like we were watching the world fall apart, albeit from our relatively civilized piece of paradise. But even in Australia, we were not immune to the weirdness of these last few years.”
Despite the darker experiences that weave their way throughout the album, there’s an oxymoronic sense of hope intertwined into their chronicles. With uplifting reggae and dub leanings, DUB ZOO continues to embrace feelings of presence and free-thinking into their enthralling catalog. As a large collective of musicians and music teachers, they unite eclectic abilities with immersive sonic elements, to create an album that both inspires and uplifts. Their passion for people and the natural world collide into a spectacular repertoire. There's no doubt that their unparalleled creativity will see them soar in time to come.
