New Jersey singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Dana Why drops visuals for “Jersey Devil,” taken from his upcoming 15-track album The Lyre. Encompassing the loss of control of your life and the painstaking journey to building yourself back up again, the honest number captures the overarching theme of the album, delving into a tumultuous time in the rising musician’s life.
Rooted in his signature foundation of strong yet melodic pop sonics and heart-on-sleeve song writing, the track is accompanied by a music video which takes us down a path of losing our sense of self and working towards finding ourselves again.
Speaking of the video, he says, “I wanted the video to convey a sense of disassociation. I started by making a "fake" model of myself to sing the song, using software I was totally unfamiliar with, until I realized I wanted to involve a bunch of my friends and expand on the idea. I then started getting my feet wet with AI, using a platform called Stable Diffusion to generate these totally fucked up animations that felt so perfectly in line with the nightmarish imagery the song elicits in my mind. “
