RETROPXSSY is "Fading" in her new single

London-born, Bristol-raised alternative singer-songwriter and rapper RETROPXSSY returns with new single "Fading". The genre-bending tune takes elements from trip-hop, alternative pop with jazz aesthetics that works perfectly with RETROPXSSY's off-beat style.

The Hairymuffinman-produced cut is moody and somewhat sparse in an arrangement that allows for the focus to be on her commanding vocal performance. Diving into the dynamics of growing pains, perseverance, and self-nourishment, RETROPXSSY pours every fiber of her being on wax as she seamlessly transitions from brooding melodic runs to her distinct monotone rap flow that cuts through the mix like a hot knife through butter. The vulnerability shown here is profound and digs into past pain and her unique coping mechanism but more importantly, her resilience against being boxed in.
