After making an impact on the UK dance music culture with their explosive yet cross-sounding music, 4am Kru have released their latest single “Pianos Raining Down”. Released via Another Rhythm, the new single boasts jungle breaks, chopped euphoric rave vocal samples from the '90s and drops which catch you out of plain sight. During the pandemic, they began building their production skills and soon started releasing their high-octane, modern jungle productions after discovering a passion for the sound of the early '90s – "There’s this positive energy and raw creativity in the music from ’88 – ’96 especially. We both love it, particularly the hardcore & jungle sound that's found it’s way to us through older siblings, raves, DJs and Discogs and Youtube digging. The deeper we dug the more we discovered".
“Pianos Raining Down” demonstrates their ability to cross two classic styles of dance music into something unique and chaotic. Going from a 90’ style of jungle breaks and piano house stabs and vocals, the track finds itself in sub frequency chaos that's engulfed the rave scene for years. Speaking on the release they state "Pianos Raining Down started with us hearing an old rave vinyl, freaking out over the piano riff, then going to great lengths to track down the piano player. It turned out to be Paul Jannetta and a couple of phone calls later the track was ready to go".
Pianos Raining Down is out now on all streaming platforms.
