Canada’s very own house artist RUMPUS has released his latest club banger through Westwood Recordings as of October 14. Collaborating with FOOTWURK and Dread MC on the track, it seems only right that RUMPUS’ new release is called “My Crew”. A combination of FOOTWURK’s deep house style and RUMPUS’ knowledge of tech house, the song was created over Zoom to allow live studio collaboration from a distance. Given the circumstances during production, it seems only right that the collaborative masterpiece would be about rolling with a crew, a topic that is relatable for most after what we went through in the past couple of years.
Like all good club bangers, “My Crew” starts off with a groovy house bass line, immediately paired with clean-sounding house drums. Dread MC plays the part of vocalist, laying down simple, catchy lines to match the beat – like “you see the way my crew goes in”. Further on in the track, we start to hear techno elements combined with the deep house to provide massive club appeal. Simply put, “My Crew” is one of those songs that will get you going at the club. When it comes to house music, RUMPUS and FOOTWURK are on our radar – and we hope to see some more collaborations in the future. A dynamic duo in the world of club music, they made “My Crew” an absolute earworm and we’re excited to hear more of RUMPUS (hopefully with FOOTWURK as well) in the future.
