Following the release of her recent garage track “Red and Green (Blue Lab Beats Remix)”, Eda Eren has released her new single “I Got You” – a dance floor-ready track that features classic garage drums and breakdown sections that draws attention to a unique creative process. The track calls to mind a middle eastern Jorja Smith, but with a full journey still ahead of her. “I Got You” was mixed by Nathan Boddy, whose work is noticeable from the sounds of James Blake, Mura Masa, London Grammar and Celeste.
The meaning behind the track reminisces a previous crush Eda once had for someone during a party. She writes, “I wrote this years ago at an after party thinking about a guy I really fancied. The first time it originally was recorded at dappy's studio drank a couple bottles of wine in Camden before hitting the studio for a recording session”. She adds, “you just can’t get your mind off of him and all you want to do is leave your friends and see him. It’s about being a couple but just not being able to get him off your mind. I say this is almost like pleading or begging for affection by someone with high walls.”
'I Got You' is out now on all streaming platforms.
