Born in Nigeria and raised in Toronto, Canada to parents of Nigerian descent, singer and songwriter Osé started singing in the church at the age of four. This afforded her the chance to develop and hone her vocals and her love for modern R&B and soul acts such as H.E.R., Brandy, Summer Walker, Beyoncé et al, also helped her toe the line of her preferred genre of music. As a songwriter, she has written for records for notable artists like Tone Stith, gaining the title as the protégé of Grammy and Oscar award-winning artist, H.E.R., and opening for acts like Maeta and Tone Stith at Sony Hall.
Her newest release "Perfect Timing" is an unapologetic take on self-empowerment and self-love. Bolstered by a rich and punchy soundscape provided by L. Jean and Josiah, the singer embodies the spirit of a woman who knows what she wants and is comfortable in being herself. Armed with her commanding vocal tone and clear distinctive style, she reaffirms her confidence with lines like " Don't worry about my situation/ With me it's either now or never/Ain't settling for whatever, no/Cause nobody could do you better" and remind listeners that she is taking back autonomy in her own unique way.
"Perfect Timing" is taken from her 2 track EP In the Meantime. The second record on the EP is “Same Place”, which is produced by L. Jean, Josiah Bassey, Buggy, and Motif Alumni. The record features the Durham-based rap duo, Swank and King Draft who are affiliated with the legendary producer 9th Wonder.
