Veteran lyricist El Gant recently shared the visuals for his Ras Kass-assisted single "Pageants" and now he is back with another banger titled "Leave It Alone". The DJ Premier-produced jam is a haunting cinematic piece ripe with brooding piano stabs, thick basslines and that classic head-nodding boom-bap drum grooves.
As the title suggests, El Gant implores the opposition to stay clear as his quick-witted bars and flawless delivery proceed to lacerate the thumping backdrop provided for him. El is in his element here as he weaves through the beat with lines like "Treat the game like a mountain climber, trying to know the rope/ focused scope, everybody talking 'bout what they supposed to I supposed to play it close" and Preem ties it up with his signature cuts.
"Leave It Alone" is taken from El Gant's forthcoming solo LP O.S.L.O. The ten-track album boasts guest appearances by Ras Kass, Killah Priest, Planet Asia, King Magnetic and more, and includes production supplied by Marco Polo and J57, in addition to Preem, among others.
