German R'n'B, spoken word and jazz band, SALOMEA is made up of German-American vocalist Rebekka Salomea, keyboardist Yannis Anft, bassist Oliver Lutz and drummer Leif Berger. The genre-fusing band has built their reputation rocking prestigious festivals Jazzablanca (Morocco), Avignon Jazzfestival (France) and Moers Festival (Germany) which showcased their HipHop infused Jazz, RnB and contemporary electronic music stylings. Currently, they have 2 albums and their latest EP Conversions just came out with the newest single "Love U" being the focal point. The record is a blissful mix of neo-soul with jazz elements perfectly married with smooth textures, bouncy grooves and of course Rebekka's honeyed melodic runs. The record dwells on self-love in the face of tribulations and Rebekka delivers an aspirational and comforting message that aims to reinforce a positive mindset in the listeners.
Overall, the performance is brilliantly gripping and as the layered harmonies swell as the track progresses, the message really gets drummed in and keeps listeners locked in from start to finish.
