Phoenix, Arizona lyricist Roqy Tyraid (phonetically: Rocky Tirade) has built his reputation as a staunch wordsmith and student of the game. From working with veteran disc jockey DJ Green Lantern on his Outbreak mixtape to his recent European tour headliners, festival appearances across the US, multiple stints at the top of college radio and weekly Tuesday music series. His latest effort titled "Den of Thieves" is a cinematic and brooding track that explores the personal impact of treachery on many levels and gives his own unique take.
The production by Lucci Luke is quite exceptional for a number of reasons, one of which he utilizes a familiar sample in a novel manner and adds his own unique touch to spice things up. Roqy on the other hand understood the assignment and takes listeners on an aural journey into the deep end with graphic lyrics bolstered by his dynamic cadence. Not one to leave any stone unturned, he delivers the goods and reminds us of his unrivaled MC status with this line, "Been here, persevered, I ain't new to the scene!" before closing the song with a solemn hook.
