Austin-based, Korean-American talent Kize Bae drops uplifting track “1000 Paper Cranes," a luscious indie-pop number that comes to life withhope, love and joy in an ode to the bravery of young children battling terminal cancer.

Carried by Kize’s soaring vocals layered over a slow-burn beats, the track is a warm and anthemic homage to all people going through hardships rooted in the concept of wishes and hope, inspired by a Make A Wish documentary.

The track is accompanied by a music video which captures Kize’s journey alongside her loved ones to make 1000 paper cranes for a YouTube challenge, culminating in a collaboration with Make A Wish, which saw the rising artist create an installation of paper cranes that was auctioned off at their annual gala. The money raised helped fund a wish, pulling the theme of wish-fulfilment from the heart of the track and making it a reality.

Kize Bae who started her journey as a YouTuber fell in love with song writing through a spontaneous challenge in 2020. Quickly learning the art of blending powerful words into infectious soundscapes to weave alluring narratives, the rising musician has developed a genre-hopping style led by her knack for storytelling and world creation.

Breaking through language barriers as an artist fluent in both English and Korean, and with an ability to connect with people through well-written lyrics laid over earworm melodies, Kize Bae is exciting talent to keep your eyes on.
