Alt pop siren Skofee has just unveiled her latest single. Called "Wind Up Hero," the track follows "Where Do You Hide Your Love" shared earlier this year and "QVC" released in 2021.
With "Wind Up Hero", Skofee has crafted an upbeat and high-tempo disco infused pop single. The narrative though, is more poignant in nature. Skofee addresses her own tendency to sometimes emotionally drain herself to make others happy. With lyrics including, "I'll smile for you / I'm trying to / Empty cup you'd never know / Wind it up wind it up", Skofee is not in a great place but is putting up a front to be the caretaker for someone else in need.
Sonically, "Wind Up Hero" features shimmery synths, soaring melodies and colorful dance-soaked pop landscapes. The song is the perfect sun drenched song to end the hot summer with.
Skofee was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas but now resides in Los Angeles. She first started to release music in 2020 with her debut EP Polished. Often writing about deep existencial narratives in infectious alternative pop stylings, Skofee is seen as an important artist on the rise.
"Wind Up Hero" is the first single off of her upcoming EP Joyland, which touches upon that all too familiar search for happiness and contentment in everyday life. Take a listen to "Wind Up Hero" now and remember you don't have to be everything to everyone.
