Following on from Revenge Wife's feature with EARMILK in 2021 and sophomore EP release in May, Liz Nistico's wondrous solo project Revenge Wife continues to direct traffic without a care on the road to solo greatness with the release of her latest double-singles, "DEATHWISH" and "Holiday."
What you're going to get from Revenge Wife's newest offerings are two sides of the same story: contradicting each other through the shared experience of love.
“DEATHWISH” is the upbeat, tightly tuned leader of the two, as it sets the mood for the story from the first moment Revenge Wife shares her honest and raw lyrics, guided by the smooth sounds of echoing over-arching synths that work well amongst the assortment of assisted plucked keys and drums spread throughout the song's over 4-minute runtime.
The second side of the story, “Holiday”, is the type of song you can go back to from time to time if you're looking for a rather mellower, brighter- and equivocal- version of the Revenge Wife experience, as the titular artist offers closure to the two-storied love story through the deep, methodological soundness of the push and pull of orchestrated sounds; fast drum beats, lyrics about honest feelings and getting lost in "ocean eyes that are not enough" of possibly finding the one.
