James William Awad, professionally known in the industry as Senior is a Canadian alternative hiphop artist who is slowly building his discography by the minute. The eclectic artist sure knows a thing or two about collaboration and on his new release "Patrona" he calls up the biggest boss of them all, Rick Ross to join him.
The track in question is produced by top producer ATL Jacob who laces the duo with a gripping dark ambience made up of cinematic synths, strings and bass-laden drum grooves as the duo share some of their luxurious lifestyle with the rest of us. Senior sets it off with his heavily tuned vocals underpinned by bragging rights and a claim to the throne in his city. Rick Ross is more than comfortable here and follows with his characteristic laidback flow riddled with designer clothes, luxury cars and watches that could pay off my mortgage.
"Patrona" is taken from Senior's Ostrogoth, Pt. 1 album. The title stems from an incident that occurred earlier this year. He and a group of passengers were partying on a plane to Mexico, and the Canadian Prime Minister referred to the group as “Ostrogoths.”
In other news, here is a brief history of the term Ostrogoths. The Ostrogoths were one of the two great Gothic kingdoms within the Roman Empire. Known, in general, as “Goths,” the Ostrogoths (East) and Visigoths (West) were considered to be the most powerful and organized groups of barbarians during their time period.
