2022’s pop-punk movement has led to many incredibly creative releases, be it pure pop-rock or a hybrid mix with another genre. An aspiring rockstar going by the name Zekey recently made it on our radar, to no disappointment.
The upcoming artist has been making music since 2020, creating mix of alternative and pop music. Teaming up with producer kodeblooded, Zekey hopped on the pop-punk wave in 2021 with his single F**k Being Famous. His new single, Oh My! is a call back to the genre, and goes to show the creativity of the upcoming punk movement.
Once again produced by kodeblooded, this track is a indie rock masterpiece, and an earworm. Simple rock chords, solid 808s, and an electronic coin sound reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. creates a nostalgic pop-punk vibe perfect for any listener. With the coin sound acting as an intro to the chorus, we get a unique listening experience from the beginning — and one that’s addictive enough to make us press repeat. Oh My! is a track were proud to have listened to, and we’re excited to follow Zekey in his pop-punk journey.
