New York-based artist Tom Gluewicki, best known as his moniker Tender Glue, releases the indie-tinged single "Simple Boys". A track rife with woozy guitar tones, its indie roots shine through with a gleaming prism of sound.
Reminiscent of the early 2012 indie/psych-pop hype in the UK, the track is fused with hushed drum beats and effervescent guitars that sweep you into a hazy dream of euphonious sounds. Telling us that the track is "kind of a funny take on the immaturity of some men – not in a derogatory way. At the end of the day, all we ever need is love, even Simple Boys." The track's gentle fluidity lifts spirits with an exuberant high, focusing on Gluewicki's comforting vocals.
With lyrics that focus on the needs of simple boys, the track is a playful ode to simply wanting to be loved. It's simplicity sees the single shining with stellar production and glorious wizardry. This is one for the playlists that refuse to believe summer is slowly coming to an end.
"Simple Boys" is released via Don't Label Me Records.
