In recent years, Hyperpop has become a thriving genre with a highly diverse fan base and unique artists. Often rich in elements of trap music with heavy bass kicks, fast electronic high hats and multiple vocal stacks, LightningBoy is becoming the next example of why Hyperpop is breaking boundaries within pop culture. With his new release "Powerade," LightningBoy demonstrates his seemingly natural ability to create hype amongst crowds.
"Powerade" is meticulous, impressive and electrifying – with fast chopped vocals, heavy sub-frequencies and fast high hats creating a chaotic and genre-pushing track.
“The track is about me falling in love with someone and feeling like you’re willing to do anything to make it work but also understanding that addiction and the temptations of the world are too much to make it a reality and that as much as I wish I was the right person for her I’m not.”
The single acts as a rebirth of his sound, contrasting to his previous track ‘Can You Hear Me’ which expresses fast energy and explosive vocal production. His attention came at 18 through tattoos, aesthetics and an illusive emo style persona, which later landed him modelling contracts and opportunities from Vetements, Vogue and Valentino.
Powerade is available on all streaming platforms now.
