Despite his youth, 22-year-old Brooklyn-based artist and producer Malik English promises to give us everything he's got. On his latest drop "Muse," the single hooks you in from the offset with its drill-inspired bass loops and irresistable flows.
Not even two minutes long, "Muse," is almost a snippet of Malik's abilities. Built with honest lyricism and whirring bass flows, the single is a head-bopping tune that ignites a spark within us all. Brimming with top notch beats and bass grooves that are pure fire, the sultry bop is a must-listen.
"The record is about processing a failed relationship through vices. Whether that’s drugs, sex, or money and trying to find beauty in these things," explains Malik. "A lot of the times my lowest points become the muse for my work. I’m showing what going through these iniquities to hold on to a sense of self looks like. I also wanted ‘Muse’ to be my ode to NYC, mixing my love for R&B music with Brooklyn Drill energy to make something refreshing & fun for the city."
Featuring in Beyonce's Black Is King, Malik's work has seen him perform at SXSW, The Apollo and more. His creativity is infectious, with him producing work for a variety of other artists too, it's clear that music flows through his veins.
