Love child of Björk and Bat For Lashes’ MOLTENO is back with another glistening alt-pop offering, “Moonlight”.
Fans of the ethereal will fall head over heels for MOLTENO’s immersive sound. Iridescent vocals fly over twinkling synths and a scintillating 80s beat that really gets under your skin, thrusting the song forward and into oblivion.
MOLTENO’s music is utterly surreal, despite being made in a very much down to earth way, in her bedroom studio. If anything this makes her sound more immersive, it’s a well kept secret and an invite into her world.
The track has fascinating inspiration. After experiencing lucid dreaming, MOLTENO created "Moonlight" to explore the idea of travelling and connecting through dreams. She asks if we truly wake up in our dreams and travel by moonlight. A fantasy concept with a convincing delivery. The track is the first single from Element 2 – the second of four EPs that aim to celebrate the elements and the way nature connects us.
MOLTENO’s previous EP Element 1 allowed listeners to dip their toe into her celestial realm, and we can only hope that the upcoming EP expands on this.
