Friday Pilots Club's new single is a blast.Just like its name, "Hot Mess," charges with adrenaline and a tempo that calls for summer night menace. A fully explosive track, the lead single for Friday Pilots Club's upcoming independently released EP gives fans a perfect sample of what's to come next.

Chanty and rhythmic in nature, "Hot Mess" rings echoes of 5 Seconds of Summer and Fitz and the Tantrums.Highlight of the track comes from the second verse, "So what’s a comeback / Without just a little bit of combat / Clawing up my back oh would you want that? / Would you slip the pill / Would you run the blade right through / Just for the contact," sings the lead singer, Caleb Hiltunen.

This feels like a line that tempts fate, with cheeky metaphors nicely packaged to address the new horizon for Friday Pilots Club and their dedication to push through.Changes are coming for Friday Pilots Club, but "Hot Mess," remains loyal to the band's signature sound.
