Montreal experimental rock trio Yoo Doo Right drop five-track album A Murmur, Boundless to the East, featuring their signature blend of noisy yet melodic guitars, deep basslines and echoing synths, built on a genre-hopping foundation of krautrock, psychedelia and shoegaze.

Opening with brilliantly anthemic “Say Less, Do More,” with layers of vibrant guitars upon a rumbling bed of beats, heightened by a shouty chorus awakening raw confidence within us. Following track “SMB,” leans more towards hazy percussion and twinkling synths weaving a slightly foreboding vibe, before giving way to the groovy stylings of “Dérive.”

Penultimate production “The Failure of Stiff, Tired Friends,” is a slow-burn guitar and synth tinged track with psychedelic touches stretching into the explosive and booming finish of closer “Feet Together, Face Up, On The Front Lawn.”

Stocked full of sonic versatility which shines bright in every note across all five tracks,A Murmur, Boundless to the East, bring out the dynamics and depth of Yoo Doo Right’s music as classic rock sounds move seamlessly into experimentation, moods shifting from haunting and melancholic to joyous and celebratory in a matter of moments.
