Canadian alt-pop artist Cherry Lena is back with her latest single “Sad Boy.” Plunging you into a realm of melodies and lyrical bliss, her latest release is nothing short of perfection. Having captured the attention of listeners in her debut appearance on The Voice Quebec in 2018, fans of her blissful tunes have expanded around the globe, as she continues to become a rising success.

Themes of reflection expose themselves in “Sad Boy,” complemented with melodious harmonies, subtle basslines and intricate rhythms. In her own words she shares, “I was in such a bad mood and it felt like no song could match the exact way I was feeling.” Hence, Lena is back, defining her sound and encapsulating such feelings in her latest release. With lyrics like, "Are the tattoos on your chest just so you'll pick up girls / don't play with me babe / try not to hurt me / sad boy won't belong to me," Lena shows us the confusion and disappointment in her tone, as she tries to avoid being let down once again.

With keen expression and emotive value throughout, Lena wants to expose the ideology that people should not see their pain as a weakness, but rather as something that allows them to grow. “Sad Boy,” offers an intricate and very powerful outlet for these emotions and ones that will continue to resonate with people from all walks of life.
