Norwegian-English act Gard Read drops melancholic track "Don't Save Me"

Norwegian-English alt-pop act Gard Read delves into the darkness in our minds on melancholic yet catchy track “Don’t Save Me,” which sees him lean on his trademark velvety vocals and cinematic electronic production.

With infectious vibes brought to life by acoustic guitars and pulsing synths, the track manages to be euphoric, with an earworm chorus in spite of introspective lyricism and a contemplative message. Drawn from the overwhelming urge to escape our own shame, fear and struggles, “Don’t Save Me,” is underpinned by hopeful tones that urge us to be open to getting help to move towards healing.

As best described by Read himself, the track reminds us “What was broken can harden and become stronger. But you have to want it first,” as a steadily up-tempo soundscape gives us a life-affirming production to fall in love with.

Already established as an act to watch with his brand of emotive yet explosive music, Gard Read is set to build even more momentum with his upcoming EP for which “Don’t Save Me,” serves as an alluring tease.
