Johnny Hunter share powerful post-punk offering "Dreams"

Sydney, Australia four-piece post-punk band Johnny Hunter have returned with a new single called "Dreams". Making much noise in Sydney's underground scene in recent years, the band gained wider recognition with their 2020 EP Early Trauma and 2022's Endless Days, which featured blistering guitar riffs and howling vocals filled with raw, boundless energy. Now, they have returned with a powerful, brooding offering in "Dreams", which finds them touching upon themes of restoration and self-actualization.

"Dreams" opens with expansive guitars before dense drums and infectious bass enter to create an intoxicating groove. Their vocals match the raw energy of the powerful instrumentation, juxtaposing a timeless sound that channels 70's new wave and adds a refreshingly modern twist. "Dreams" showcases the band's signature brooding, bass-slung, post-punk style, finding the band delivering an evocative, vital performance.

The latest from Australia's Johnny Hunter, "Dreams" will appear on the band's upcoming debut album WANT, releasing on June 24.
