Montreal-based rapper and singer-songwriter Jonathan Emile returns with a new single "Motivation 4 U." As the title suggests, this track aims to fire up our inner passion and drive us to get up and achieve our dreams now instead of procrastinating. Over a cinematic texture and hard-hitting trap drum groove, Jonathan drops pure uplifting bars laced with insight to give listeners that much-needed push to start the day. he doesn't try to go over our heads with multi-syllabic rhymes but rather he cuts straight to the chase with the mantra-like hook; "I know the world is hating on you/ destiny is waiting on you, this that motivation for you".
Jonathan Emile is a mainstay in the Montreal music scene, as a vibrant performer who seamlessly blends hip-hop, R&B, and reggae. His debut release was the EP The Lover/Fighter Document in 2011 which he followed up in 2015 with an LP version the same year. He developed his unique sound during his battle with cancer at the age of 18 and used music as his personal form of therapy fusing it with personal experiences and then some. He also released a reggae album Spaces-in-Between via a partnership between his independent label Mindpeacelove Records and Tuff Gong International.
