Brooklyn-based jangle pop act Forever Honey deliver feel-good track “Number One Fan,” with an accompanying music video. The track which hones into the quartet’s trademark crossover of melodic indie/dream-pop and intensely emotive rock tones they describe as “sob rock,” is a snapshot of monotony in our lives.
Telling a simple tale of scrolling through Instagram and peeking into the highlight reels of everyone’s lives, “Number One Fan,” unravels with a deeper message about how we know people in the most superficial way, and how we “fall in love with the least accurate version of someone."
Inspired by the relatable numbness of our day-to-day during the pandemic, the track takes a very literal approach to song writing, while also tapping into Forever Honey’s penchant for drawing from personal experience.
The foursome consisting of Liv Price (lead vocals, guitar), Aida Mekonnen (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Vannelli (drums, keys), and Jack McLoughlin (bass, production) made their entrance into music in 2020, facing the challenge of a virtual debut with a confident sound which brings together a mix of styles and stories.
Continuing to perfect their craft with each new release, Forever Honey continues to establish themselves at the helm of a new wave of jangle pop with “Number One Fan.”
