Montreal-based Cameroonian musician Taigenz introduces us to something old disguised in a fresh coat of paint. As the old saying goes, the love for money is the root of all evil and in his new single "Crypthot" the rapper breaks down the fusion of a gold digger and cryptocurrency. The lyrics are unapologetic and somewhat tongue-in-cheek as he delivers melodic vocals over a somber piano-laden trap backdrop provided by European producer Jam. His lines are funny and topical such as, "Twerking on the app, watch that ass go TikTok" and the digitization of sexuality for digital cash because the old ways are obsolete.
The visuals are made by A Verberile Studio Production and make use of animation that follows Taigenz's experiences with a Crypthot who he met online. The raw animation style and storyboarding is pretty entertaining and hilarious as well.
"Crypthot" is Taigenz's second single from his upcoming project Life A Life which is set to drop in spring, 2022.
