Irish singer-songwriter Robert Grace releases his new single "Need You Back." A pop banger built with addictive piano melodies and driving beats, the single looks into the breakdown of relationships and how we often place the blame on the other person, despite our own flaws.
A rising pop ballad that reflects on a relationship that should never have come to an end, Grace's fluent lyricism touches on the self-reflective moments where you realize you should've fought a lot harder to keep a certain person in your life. Yet, from these tender moments comes an uplifting, mellifluous single that holds your attention with its emotive vocals. "You won't know whether to smile or cry after listening to this track," says Grace of the track, and it's true. "Need You Back" hits those who make a decision with the promise of better things, only to look back and wish you had acted differently.
Speaking to EARMILK exclusively, Grace tells us: "I really love the concept behind this music video and how it links in with the message behind the song. Because the song for me isn’t necessarily just about wanting a particular person back. It’s about wanting a particular feeling back as well. In the main character's case, she wants to feel in love again! That’s why she daydreams about a cardboard cutout coming to life and sweeping her off her feet."
Robert Grace's ascent to pop stardom is ongoing, but he's closer to the summit than we all realize. This single dips our toes in the capable waters of Grace's discography and we're ready to be seduced with a lot more. "Need You Back" is taken from Grace's new EP XXVII which is out now via Columbia.
