TÖME is all about 'LÖV'

Less than a year after her winning the prestigious Juno Award for Reggae Recording of the year in 2021, fast-rising French-Canadian Nigerian singer, songwriter, and actress TÖME returns with a brand new body of work entitled LÖV ( Love Over Vanity). The ten-track album is an exciting R&B-Afropop fusion offering that showcases TÖME's versatility and genre-fluid musical style, fuelled by her penchant for love songs, vivid storytelling, and infectious melodies using elements from R&B, soul, and afrobeats music.

Written by TÖME, with production from the likes of Shizzi (Beyonce, Fireboy DML, Ed Sheeran), Michelin Shin (Wretch 32, NafeSmallz, Tiggs Da Author), LT Moe (Rick Ross, Wale, Eminem), and Grammy Award nominees Legendury Beatz (Wizkid, Tems, Justin Bieber), and guest appearances from Mozambique newcomers Yaba Buluku Boyz, Nigerian pop star Skales and Atlanta-based R&B sensation JSol, LÖV makes for a glorious listen from start to finish, held together by TÖME’s enchanting voice, honest and relatable songwriting, and enthralling artistry.

The project opens up with the R&B/afropop infused love ballad "Nobody Else" before melding into the Yaba Buluku Boyz assisted "Hold You" with its amapiano vibes and dreamy melodic runs that run like a mantra from start to finish. The guitar-riffs on "Burn Up" shine through as the singer's commanding vocals cut through the mix while Skales adds his baritone vocals to complement the soothing dancehall-tinged vibes. On "Be There" she pours her heart out to a lover while on the JSol assisted "TÖME" she explores true love between two individuals. The punchy backdrop is peppered by both singers' melodic presence and undeniable chemistry. Other solid records include the upbeat "Good Life" and the sultry lyrics of "Wait," where she goes into full sensual mode. Overall, the project lives up to the title and delivers on its promise as TÖME thrills listeners with a variety of love-themed tracks that range from mellow to upbeat.

TÖME is a Nigerian-French Canadian Singer-Songwriter born in Montreal. She has toured with the likes of Mr. Eazi and shared stages with Wizkid and Burna Boy amongst others. She has about three projects under her belt; One with Self, a 5-track self-recorded acoustic EP, her first official tape; Tomesroom: Chapter 1, and her debut album Bigger Than 4 Walls. Besides making music, she also acts and made her screen debut as a lead in the short film ‘Love in Transition.’
