Emerging producer Backpack Ben recently put out his 8-track project, Dropped Out, and now he returns with the video for the song "John Lennon." The record is a mellow, guitar-laden atmospheric piece that combines elements of soft rock with a hip-hop edge. Joining him on the track are the duo Zach Siegz and Graux who add their melodic raps to the mix. The track doesn't dive into unknown territory and delivers a stream of consciousness type aura peppered by the airy melodic performances from the duo. They understood the assignment and stick to what they know— memorable hooks with a playful vibe.
The visuals capture the lives of the artists involved. From their recording sessions, afterparties, live concerts, and jam sessions, viewers get a sneak peek into what these guys have been up to and then some. I do dig the DIY/documentary feel of the visual which makes it as organic as can be.
"John Lennon" is taken from Backpack Ben's Dropped Out project, which features emerging artists like Lil Chris, Big Trip, Chris Patrick, Bry Greatah, Jake James, Jesus Honcho, Jvsun, and Zach Siegz.
