VA emcee Fly Anakin is back with another visual gem as he shares a retro-infused video for his song "Black Be The Source," which is the final single from his forthcoming album Frank. The new track sees Anakin connect with frequent collaborator Pink Siifu over a moody and punchy backdrop provided by DJ Harrison (Stones Throw). As the title suggests, the track dwells on the hurdles and struggles of the young black man in modern America and the dynamics and politics of the system that tries to diminish their hopes and dreams. Fly Anakin is in form and his usual self as he doesn't hold back and pours his frustrations on wax with his impassioned and off-kilter flow. This is followed by Pink Siifu's upbeat performance and tied up with soothing melodic background vocals from singer Billz Egypt.

The visual is shot on a 16mm film in snowy NYC and follows Fly Anakin as he traverses several popular spots in NY. The clip is cinematic and makes use of performance shots, cut scenes of all the artists and also numerous  black historical clips ranging from Whitney Houston singing the American National anthem, Tupac chilling with the late John Singleton, MLK's historical speech and snippets of Malcolm X, Angela Davis, and much more

"Black Be The Source" comes on the heels of his previous visuals for the Madlib produced "No Dough."

Fly Anakin is set to release his debut studio album, Frank, on March 11th via Lex Records. The album includes widely-praised singles "Ghost", "Sean Price", and the Madlib-produced "No Dough’, as well as link-ups with Richmond hero Nickelus F and Mutant Academy's Big Kahuna OG and Henny L.O.
