Los Angeles music duo Calabasas consists of Watrcup and Franskiiz. Together, they reveal themselves in the form of alternative pop intertwined with characteristics of hip-hop, electronic waves, R&B, and cinematic sounds. Don’t let all of that combination steer you away. In fact, it’s what makes Calabasas unique and easy for anyone to listen. Today, they’ve shared their new single and music video for “The Mend.”

Even though “The Mend” dives into heavy topics, experiences with a rocky relationship, the production glimmers with mid-tempo pop backbeat, indie rock guitars, and a laidback, yet somber hip-hop presentation. The vocals have a soothing drawl to them, nicely complemented by the swirling background vocals. The duo manages to make all of these genres blend effortlessly together, really solidifying a unique style of their own.

Watrcup said of the track, "I wrote this at a tough time in my relationship for the woman I love,” says Watrcup on the song. “It’s a chance to get vulnerable with our fans and let them know that we are all humans and we make mistakes."

The track will be on their upcoming EP, due out this spring. So, stick around for when they release more news and updates.
