Punk rock meets indie rock trio Mr. Max returns with a new single "I Hate My Life". The hard hitting track is the first of the year from the Los Angeles based band who further released an accompanying animated music video.
In "I Hate My Life", the band explores the sentiment of someone feeling angry, sad and hopeless about how their life is unfolding. Finding living difficult, Mr. Max discusses how vices can be used to cope with the pain. Confiding, "the song is about shirking your responsibilities and cowering away from life’s challenges: instead finding refuge in hedonistic pleasures. In this case, the pursuit of alcohol and meaningless sex." The inner unrest is palpable with rock drenched chaotic soundscapes filled with driving basslines, thrashing grunge-inspired guitars and impassioned vocals. "I Hate My Life" thrills with addicting melodies and an enthralling pop-punk delivery that is equally intense as it is emotional. The unique music video was created by acclaimed Youtuber Harvey Seasalt and fuses both animation with live action film. The visuals further highlight the narrative of how self destruction and poor choices can lead to personal ruin.
Mr. Max was started by frontman Max Cohen in 2017. The musical project is now a three piece with Diego Patino on drums and Arion Salazar on the bass. Mr. Max is known for their charismatic and invigorating live shows.
