The unbeatable duo of Casual and DEAD PERRY is back in the field with the visual for their gritty record titled "Run For Cover." The track harks back to the days of the posse cut and brings forth a pure display of bravado from underground rap stalwarts, Daniel Son, Celph Titled, and J-Spliff. DEAD PERRY ramps up the ante with his dark and ominous production that sounds like a scene of a vintage horror sci-fi flick while the emcees bring their A-game with graphic imagery of hard-hitting rhymes. From the off-kilter raps of Toronto’s sharpest Daniel Son, Danish Hip-Hop hero J-Spliff and legendary punchline devastator Celph Titled, all tied up by a fiery chorus.
The vibe is also reflected in the quick-cut and multi-tiered visuals interspersed throughout the accompanying music video directed by Shawn Johnson and footage by Dice One. We see clips from numerous vintage flicks like The Thing, Point Break, Scarface amongst others.
"Run For Cover” is taken from the new album The Art Of Reanimation on digital/CD/cassette versions through Below System Records and vinyl via Tuff Kong Records. The track is one of four completely new tracks on the album (in addition to fourteen tracks remixed from Casual’s 2020 Big Head Science LP by DEAD PERRY and his cohort L Nasty). In addition to the aforementioned guests on "Run For Cover" the project also has appearances from Ghostface Killah, Planet Asia, Ras Kass, Killah Priest, ETO, Crimeapple, Rockness Monsta, Phesto, Tristate, P-Dirt, MC Wicks as well as turntable work from DJ TMB and DJ Jason D.
