Montreal-based lyricist Chung drops double visuals for the songs "Chung Shui" and "7030," taken from her last body of work titled Chung Shui. The EP is produced by her longtime producer/collaborator Cotola and features a blend of cinematic backdrops with Chung's laidback and self-assured hardcore raps.
The visual, produced and directed by Cotola starts off with the Shadrock assisted "Chung Shui." Shot in Montreal's China Town using a black and white aesthetic, it showcases Chung's performance style and laidback demeanor, with a '90s feel that's reminiscent of old hardcore rap clips we all grew up on. The visual switches when "7030" comes in and the use of colorful motifs with Chung hanging out with her squad adds a different vibe to it all. I like the simplicity and expressive approach of it all and also the mild visual effects by LeCook, it's not too gaudy but noticeable enough to catch the eyes.
Raised in a musical household with a Jamaican background, Chung got her name from the Street Fighter character and her love for martial arts. She has a number of singles under her belt and her recent release is the Chung Shui EP. She was also a member of Low Key Ent.
