Canada born, London based siger/songwriter Elena teams up with London’s rising rap/production duo Larwood & Koh for this love soaked ballad titled "When I Fall." The hypnotic tune is ripe with airy textures from soothing basslines, moody strings and swellings that seamlessly merge with Elena's layered melodic runs. The record dives into the concept of falling in love and describes the feeling in an interesting manner that deals with totality. Elena makes use of poignant lyrics such as " My mother told me I'm a problem child, and you're a product of divorce/ Let's take our time and on the day we die /I hope they put my name right next to yours" to evoke deep emotion, coupled with her airy vocal stylings. The result is a blissful cinematic piece that is perfect for your evening love playlist
For the visuals, Adam Haq takes charge and brings quite an array of motif-driven clips. It makes use of performance shots of Elena to clips of a strange masked magical figure fiddling with weird gizmos. It is expressive for the most part and exudes a dreamy feel similar to the texture of the song itself.
Elena was raised on raised a cattle farm in Canada, attended Berklee College of Music, and lived in New York City for a while during the making of her debut EP. She is currently based in London, UK working on her forthcoming album. She has two projects under her belt, Have U Ever Met a Model With Feelings?. and the concept-album, Holy Tender Artist.
