French and Irish-based alt-rock act Bigger throw us back in time with a '60s inspired offering, “Even With Lies,” which brings a funky and upbeat instrumental together with woozy vocals. With infectious string-laden sonics, the track juxtaposes an optimistic, rock soundscape with a solemn, foreboding message that lies have a way of catching up with you, no matter how much you try to hide from them.
With punchy lyrics that get straight to the heart of the matter, frontman Kevin Twomey’s hazy voice layers over treble guitar tones and subtle drums for a unique instrumentation that feels familiar yet fresh. Infused with a sixties swirl, the soulful tune weaves a surprisingly honest tale about lies, and how everyone hides behind fake smiles and nice words in an effort to escape the lies we tell others and ourselves.
“Even With Lies” is accompanied by a simple but pleasing music video which shows the band dressed sharply, performing the track before erupting into a lively dance break. The groovy production offers a glimpse of Bigger’s debut album Les Myosotis, recorded during lockdown in Castle Studios in Dresden, as the rising act prepares to take their musical ambitions to the next level.
