Jayne Doe's “Welcome To Hollywood” profiles struggle and resilience

Actress and singer/songwriter Sydney Agudong, who goes by the artist name Jayne Doe, has just unveiled her new single and it is an irresistible mix of dreamy indie pop soundscapes, complete with warmly pensive vocals and effortlessly engaging melodies. Entitled “Welcome To Hollywood,” the track is a strong debut for the Hawaiian born and bred artist.

“Welcome To Hollywood” was inspired by her own life under the spotlight at a young age. From rejections and unhealthy comparisons, the actress and performer knows first hand how difficult and sometimes painful pursuing a life in entertainment can be, confiding: “it describes my own adversity and experience with pursuing my dreams and it is more of a metaphor for everyone and what it means to put your health and heart out on the line without knowing what the future holds at any point in time. No one talks about the mental strength and sacrifice it takes to make a dream come true." With Jayne Doe's slow-burned melancholy rich singing style that is full of emotion and depth, the newcomer brilliantly communicates the sadness that can come from the sacrifices needed to make a dream come true.

Sydney Agudong first entered the spotlight at 18 months old and spent her childhood acting and singing at various talent shows and competitions, where she often won first prize. Finding a love for music at an early age, she learned guitar, piano, and ukulele, and as a teen began writing her own songs. “Welcome To Hollywood" is the first single off of her forthcoming album with producer Al Machera (Salt N’Pepa). In addition to making music, the musician is further busy guest starring in Netflix’s On My Block.
